![]() ![]() In your case, you could have given up either the stealth or the dash in order to get another skill that you wanted. If you had two more slots you could just add on a debuff and a single target attack and be generically good at everything. ![]() If you build a speed-clearing character, it usually means you have to trade off your ability to deal good single target damage. ![]() I said as much in a different thread on r/Diablo that got reposted here (it's the one asking for 8 slots instead of 6). Having more slots of course opens up more playstyles, but it also makes each build more generic in terms of what kinds of content they can do. The game was designed around players having only those 6 slots so that we would have to make choices about what we could and couldn't use. I don't think D4 should have more than 6 skill slots. I don’t think we need bars like WoW or anything, but I personally do think it would be nice to have 1 through 0 for skills, especially if some skills that probably should be passives, aren’t. This basically killed my interest in going further (I’m not aware of the legendary powers that might(?) exist to supplement what I was missing with my build) and really felt limiting on what the game allowed me to do. This completely fell apart once I realized being limited to 6 skills meant I had one generator/consistent form of damage as my left click, a stealth and a dash, poison on my weapons (because instead of it being passive I needed it on my bar), caltrops and poison trap. Centering a build around traps/poison sounded cool, with stealth for fun and dash as my movement power. I had an idea of a build I wanted to try out, but very early on I realized I couldnt really make the choices I wanted to. The last character I tried during the beta was a rogue. Just wanted to throw a poll out there about something that’s been on my mind since playing the beta. From character builds and skills to lore and theories, we have it all covered.
